Obama: Troops To Afghanistan - Back To Drawing Broad

US President Obama is not accepting the current Afghanistan Troop options given to him without changes. The President insist on an 'exit Strategy' before sending extra troops.

In a leaked letter to the White House, Karl Eikenberry,  the US ambassador to Afghanistan, calls for the plans to be reconsidered. The ambassador claims Afghanstan President Hamid Karzai's government needs to first tackle corruption, which continues to threaten democratic stability in the country.

The ambassador also argues that a troop increase will cause Afghanistan to be more USA reliant.

The US military's top commander in Afghanistan General Stanley McChrysta, however, has requested the deployment of 40,000 more troops to  stamp out violent. There are currently 68,000 US troops serving in Afghanistan.
