UpMarket UK Supermarket Dumps Fox News In Protest Over Rematks About Barack Obama

Waitrose, Britain's most upmarket supermarket chain, is the latest firm to pull it's ads from Fox News.

In July, presenter Glenn Beck called Obama a"racist" with "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture" after the president's comments on Cambridge, Massachusetts Police arrest of his friend and distinguished professor Henry Louis Gates.

Not wanting to be tainted by association Companies, including Best Buy, Travelocityand and Wal-Mart,  withdraw their adverts from Beck's show after his outburst.

A customer services spokesman for Waitrose, which is part of the John Lewis Partnership, said "We take the placement of our ads in individual programmes very seriously, ensuring the content of these programmes is deemed appropriate for a brand with our values,"
