Nobel Peace Prize A call To Action Says Obama

US President Barack says he's surprised, humbled to be awarded Nobel Peace Prize and accepted it "...as a call to action" rather than as a reward for past accomplishments. I will accept this award as a call to action, a call to all nations to confront the common challenges of the 21st Century,'' 

President Obama's full statement 




The chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, Thorbjorn Jagland, said "The question we have to ask is who has done the most in the previous year to enhance peace in the world," Jagland said. "Who has done more than Barack Obama?"

Obama's "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.'' were also cited by the award committee.
